Care tips: Philodendron Birkin, White or Pink Princess (Philodendron erubescens)
There are so many Philodendron varieties in the world - but our most popular selections are the Philodendron Birkin, and the White or Pink Princess. These are all popular and easy care plants, great for those of who love lush foliage without all the fuss. For these reasons and more, the Philodendrons make a wonderful plant gift!
💧 Watering
- Moisture: Let the plant dry out between watering. Philodendrons can be susceptible to root rot which is common when the plant is over watered.
☀️ Light & Temperature
- Light: Position in a bright spot to keep the variegation productive. If the space is too dark, it is quite likely the colouring will 'revert' and go back to a solid green base.
-
Climate: Keep between 18–27°C. Avoid drafts from heating and air-conditioning.
✂️ Maintenance
- Browning foliage: Generally a sign of under watering. Try not to keep the Kokedama dry for too long once it reaches this stage.
- Yellowing/mushy foliage: The opposite of the above - too much water! Let the plant dry out completely between waterings.
🐶🐱 Pet safety
- Philodendrons are mildly toxic if consumed, so keep out of reach of your pets.
