Plant care tips

LIGHT
Kokedamas are happy indoors in bright filtered light. Avoid direct sun to avoid scorching.

WATER
When the ball is light and dry, soak the entire ball for 15-20 mins.

  • Frequency (small - medium size): Summer (every 7 - 10 days), Winter (less frequently)
  • Frequency (large - extra large size): Summer (every 2 weeks), Winter (allow to dry out - approximately every 4 - 6 weeks).

NUTRIENTS
Your Kokedama has been created with the perfect soil mix & slow release fertiliser. Between September - February, feel free to add a liquid fertiliser to every second soak.

Temperature and Humidity:
Maintain a moderate room temperature between 18°C and 24°C. It thrives in average to high humidity levels, so consider placing a small humidifier nearby or misting the leaves regularly to provide adequate moisture.

Fertilising: Feed your Tradescantia Nanouk with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser once a month during the growing season (spring and summer). Follow the instructions on the fertiliser packaging for the correct dilution ratio. Avoid fertilising during the dormant winter period.

Pruning: Regularly trim any leggy or overgrown stems to encourage bushier growth and maintain a compact shape. Pinching off the tips of the plant can promote branching and fuller foliage. You can quickly propagate the cuttings in water or directly in soil to expand your plant collection or share with friends.

Pests and Diseases: Tradescantia Nanouk is generally resistant to common problems and diseases, such as spider mites or mealybugs. However, it's essential to remain vigilant. If you notice any signs of infestation, promptly isolate the affected plant and treat it with an appropriate insecticidal soap or horticultural oil, following the product instructions.
